(Double Deck Cancellation Go Fish Hearts)
1. The game will be played with 2 standard decks with 1 exception noted below. There will be a 64 player limit (8 tables).
2. Agree on scorekeeper. Pick first 'Dealer of Record' by lots. Dealer shuffles cards, places in middle of table and continues mixing until satisfied.
3. Each player draws required number of cards. (6 players draw 17 with 2 card Kitty) (7 players - add 1 joker - draw 15 - no Kitty) (8 players - draw 13 - no Kitty) If both decks have different colored backs, all cards drawn cannot be same color. Dealer holds Kitty to side if necessary.
4. Players always pass 3 cards of choice to another player in the following order per hand: LEFT, RIGHT, 2 LEFT, 2 RIGHT,..., KEEPER (hand before repeating Dealer will be Keeper)
5. Player to left of 'Dealer of Record' leads ANY card in his hand including a Heart or Queen of Spades (but not Joker if it exists), ie. Hearts are considered 'broken' from start.
6. Players follow around the table; must follow suit or may play anything. Duplicate cards of suit led cancel each other - this means they don't exist for this trick.
7. Highest card of suit led wins trick. If all cards of suit led cancel, trick is placed in middle and previous leader leads another card and continue as Rule
6. If this is the last trick, previous trick winner gets trick. If any 'counters' are played for the first time, trick winner also gets Kitty if one exists. ('Counters' are any Heart and either Queen of Spades). Trick winner may look at Kitty and does not show to anyone else.
8. Trick winner leads any card from hand. Continue until all cards are played. Joker, if it exists, is played on last hand ONLY. If trick leader has joker, he takes last trick; otherwise Joker is dead card.
9. Count points in hand; each Heart is 1 point and each Queen of Spades is 13 points. Scorekeeper will go around table asking for scores. Scores should add up to 52 points. Adjacent players will help scorekeeper confirm this. CARDS ARE NOT THROWN IN FOR NEXT DEAL UNTIL SCOREKEEPER CONFIRMS 52 POINTS BY SAYING 'THIS HAND IS LEGAL'.
10. If someone should get all the points, ie. 52, this is considered 'Shooting the Moon'. Player has choice of adding 52 points to ALL other players or subtracting 52 from his own score. No player may go 'negative', ie. have less than zero points.
11. Total scores. If one or more players reach 100, lowest score wins table and advances to second round. (if there is a tie, both advance). There will be no reduction in scores if someone hits a score of 50 or 100 exactly.
12. Deal passes to player to left of 'Dealer of Record' from previous hand.
13. Any questions, see Tournament Director. Decisions may be discussed with other players, but will be capricious and final.
